I'm Dr. Antônio Guilherme Baylão, an infectious disease specialist. If you've been living with unexplained fevers, infections that keep coming back, a bone or joint infection, or a weakened immune system, these are exactly the cases I dig into. I see patients in person in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, and by telemedicine across Brazil.
I am Dr. Antônio Guilherme Baylão, an infectious disease physician practicing in the office, in hospitals and in infection prevention and control in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. I devote my practice to cases that demand deep investigation: bone and joint infections and those associated with prostheses and implants, invasive fungal infections, complex wounds, and the care of immunosuppressed and onco-hematology patients.
I am currently an ID physician at the UNIMED Volta Redonda Hospital and its Home Care Service (SAD), and also at the Viver Mais Hospital & Medical Center. My path combines the office, the bedside and teaching — residency preceptor in Infectious Diseases, consultant in complex infections and antimicrobial stewardship, with active participation in clinical research and in national and international scientific societies.
